Fun things to do in Estes Park, Colorado

Downtown Estes Park

Downtown offers over 200 retail shops, restaurants, art galleries, sporting goods stores, and attractions. Downtown is so popular; you might even see some elk wandering around. Don’t miss the candy shops for some Estes Park taffy!

Lake Estes

Looking for a nice morning or evening walk?

Lake Estes is located just across the highway from the Ridgeline Hotel and features 3.75 miles of paved walking paths and it is a favorite area for some of the town’s resident elk. Don’t forget your camera! Lake Estes offers stunning views of The Stanley Hotel and surrounding mountains.

Rocky Mountain National Park

For anyone coming up ahead of the conference or staying afterwards, there are so many winter recreation activities in Rocky Mountain National Park!

From snowshoeing, to cross country skiing, to guided ranger hikes, the recreation doesn’t stop because of the snowy conditions of winter/spring!

Bear Lake and Dream Lake are two of my personal favorite hikes in the park, but snowshoes are a must this time of year. Both are accessible from the same parking lot – Bear Lake is a short trek, while Dream Lake is about 3 miles round trip. These trails are high in elevation – don’t forget your water, snacks, and layers for rapidly changing weather conditions.
